Why Makhubedu joined Sekhukhune

Newly appointed Sekhukhune United coach MacDonald Makhubedu left Polokwane City unexpectedly and the reason behind that has been revealed.

Sekhukhune unveiled Makhubedu as their new coach as part of new changes at the club aimed at accelerating their plan to earn promotion to the DStv Premiership.

The former Baroka FC coach is seen as someone who can lead the team to achieve that after Johnny Ferreira was moved to the position of director of football.

According to his agent Mushadu Mulovhedzi, Sekhukhune gave them a good offer they couldn't resist and Makhubedu felt the squad they have and facilities will make it easy for him to win promotion.

"Sekhukhune gave him a good offer and the plan is for him to get promotion, and he believes in the plan and project judging on the players they've signed," Mulovhedzi tells KickOff.com.

"He couldn't turn down an offer to coach a well-structured team with top players. He is also a winner who has proven himself at Baroka FC and Acornbush."

Makhubedu will be in charge of the team when they play Pretoria Callies at Makhulong Stadium in the GladAfrica Championship on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Rise and Shine have moved assistant coach Willy 'Baiano' Moloto to the position of caretaker coach.
