'Chiefs must just buy the Baroka squad'

Premiership

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Linda Buthelezi says the blame for Kaizer Chiefs' poor run this season should be solely put on the players.

Amakhosi produced another disappointing performance allowing the most off-form team in the DStv Premiership this season Black Leopards to come from behind and beat them 2-1 on Wednesday.

This finished off the little hope the club's supporters had of making it into the top eight.

"I think Kaizer [Motaung] is where he is today because of being always positive. What I mean is, a loss brings that positiveness, because even a witch doesn't like it when it rains," Buthelezi philosophises with KickOff.com.

"All this mess is because of what's happening internally. Let's take for example Khama Billiat. There are those players who make you not perform in a club. People who fail to motivate others during a match. Then there are those players who know how to motivate their fellow teammates.

"At the moment no one is doing that at Kaizer Chiefs. Gavin Hunt is a very, very positive person. So this thing is internal. Players are not right, that's it. The likes of Billiat, [Bernard] Parker... not so long ago we heard he [Parker] was fighting with a teammate. Those are things that are not good for youngsters like Ngcobo.

"You will be making a mistake if you talk about the coach. Blame players who can't talk to each other in a good manner. In the game Black Leopards players they could see an opportunity to impress Chiefs, they want to see themselves in Chiefs colours.

"Blame the players for the situation Kaizer Chiefs are in. I'm not happy with Gavin Hunt's technical team. I believe Ace Khuse should be roped in instead. He's a very courageous person, I've worked with him.

"Everything is in the players' hands now, not the coach. What else can the coach do now? Especially the players who earn a lot, I don't see what they are doing for us, instead they are the ones who are bringing the club down.

"Let's just buy the whole of Baroka squad. Those boys can play. There are no problems at Kaizer Chiefs, but the problem is with the players."
