Chippa United coach Lehlohonolo Seema says the red card to Sandile Mthethwa threw his side's plan out of the window after their 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening.
Chippa had Mthethwa sent off shortly before half-time and did well to hold out for as long as they did before Fortune Makaringe scored an 85th-minute winner for the Buccaneers.
"I feel disappointed about the result," Seema told SuperSport TV.
"But I'm more disappointed about the guys after executing the plan so well and then end up conceding in the dying minutes of the game. But after we kept them out for so long and then getting hit.
"At the end of the day I feel for them. But the plan was thrown out the window the minute we got a red card. It was always going to be difficult to deal with their movement but we tried to be as compact as possible and frustrate them to go wide.
"And I think Eva Nga he worked his socks off. I had to bring the fresh legs. They worked hard. The goal I think we let ourselves down. They were frustrated. We tried to explore and it cost us because we opened up at the back.
"I did not see the incident. Whether it's a red card or not I don't know. I don't think it really matters now. But what I know is it threw our plan out of the window."
