Lebohang Maboe has shared some excellent advice for the new Mamelodi Sundowns signings who will be joining for the 2020/21 season.
The nine-time PSL league champions are known for always signing top players and have already recruited more quality for next season – the likes of Grant Margman, George Maluleka and Jody February.
Bidvest Wits stars Haashim Domingo, Ricardo Goss and Gift Motupa are also believed to be heading to Chloorkop next season, although those moves are not yet officially confirmed.
Sundowns could be adding around R50-million's worth of new players according to transfermarkt.com – see their individual values below!
Many players with big reputations have struggled to crack it at Sundowns because of expectations and pressure, as well as the intense competition at a team as ambitious as The Brazilians.
Maboe joined Pitso Mosimane's side from Maritzburg United with less hype surrounding him and has managed to become one of the regulars in the team.
"Coming to a big team like Sundowns there's always pressure, every game is like a cup final to us," Maboe tells KickOff.com as a word of advice to his future teammates.
"Because the supporters are expecting us to win every game that you play you know, you really have to be mentally strong. You have to believe in yourself, put in extra work after every session."
The 25-year-old says being self-disciplined is one of the key factors to succeed at Masandawana as they have become one of the most feared teams in Africa.
"At Sundowns we don't have much time to spend on the field because we are always travelling, always on the road you know playing games," he explains.
"So coming to a big team, you have to know that there's always pressure coming here. You have to be mentally strong to stand the pressure.
"Push hard and wait for your chance. When you get it, don't squander it, hold it with both hands and just work extra hard and stay disciplined."
