A prominent striker in the PSL has expressed his desire to follow in the footsteps of his hero Knowledge Musona and play for Kaizer Chiefs.
Musona's transfer to Chiefs several years ago inspired many Zimbabwean players to believe in themselves, according to Knox Mutizwa.
The Golden Arrows marksman has nine league goals so far this season and is chasing down current top scorer Gabadinho Mhango for the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award.
"I think Knowledge Musona played quite a good role at Kaizer Chiefs and scored some important goals so everyone in Zimbabwe wanted to come to South Africa because of Musona," he said.
Mutizwa, who has scored 32 goals in 99 appearances for Arrows in all competitions, says as much as he is not that far away from Musona's goals tally he would like to emulate him and join Chiefs in the future.
Musona, who recently chose to sign for KAS Eupen over Mamelodi Sundowns, scored 40 goals in 88 appearances in all competitions for Amakhosi.
"I don't think he scored as many goals as I did right now, I don't know maybe, I'll check out and see, but I don't think I'm too far. One day I will play also for Kaizer Chiefs, I will do what he did," Mutizwa said.
"I'm okay here at Arrows but obviously every player wants to play for a big team. Right now I'm comfortable at Arrows, everything is going well, but in future..."
Mutizwa will hope to make a statement against Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (15h30) as both sides will be battling it out for three points.
