Khulekani Madondo has confirmed interest from Baroka FC and other offers from Absa Premiership teams and hopes to find a new club soon.
Madondo's contract with Richards Bay FC comes to an end on June 30. Baroka are favourites to land the former AmaZulu and Maritzburg United midfielder, but Madondo reveals he has other options too.
"Baroka tried to buy me from Richards Bay FC but the club were not ready to let me go in January. My contract ends in June and I'll take it from there," he tells KickOff.com.
"I have other offers from PSL teams but can't really say which teams. As much as I miss playing in the top-flight league, I don't want to get too excited until the deal is done. I still believe I can deliver there and I'm ready for anything next season."
The midfielder will be celebrating Youth Day by giving back to his community and hosting the Khulekani Madondo June 16 Tournament this coming weekend in his hometown at Howick around Maritzburg, through which he aims to create more opportunities for young footballers around his area.
"This weekend I'm hosting my second tournament at Empophomeni township, 16 teams involved and winner will get prizes which are sponsored by the municipality," he reveals.
"We will have AmaZulu FC assistant coach Mabhuti Khenyeza and other guys around the Pietermaritzburg area. I'm hoping it will create more opportunities for young players in my area as I also invited Richards Bay FC and other representatives of KZN football."
