Khanye hails Downs' fantastic Ralani signing

Popular football analyst Junior Khanye has hailed the signing of experienced attacker Surprise Ralani that he claims will benefit both the player and club.

The 34-year-old was announced recently as the Brazilians’ latest signing at the beginning of the January transfer window from Cape Town City in an 18-month deal.

"For me, Ralani is a good signing," Khanye tells KickOff.

"Age is just a number, hence the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic are still active at the age of 40-years-old and still scoring goals.

"Ralani is a properly developed player from Stars of Africa academy. He went overseas at an early age and I love the balance where he can kick with both feet.

"Though he must double up his efforts, because at Sundowns talent alone will not be enough, so he shouldn't relax.

"There's a lot that he can still offer, he's got speed, technically he's got balance, he can play off the ball, and they need a winger.

"He's only 34 anyway, who says 34-year-olds can't play, and this is a good mature age.

"Thiago Silva is at the same age as me and he is 36, but rated as one of the best defenders in England."

Khanye says the move will help Ralani get an elusive DStv Premiership medal.

"Ralani when they gave him the one year option he checked a lot of things, he wanted to win the league, because you can play until you are 34 in the DStv Premiership and retire without a league medal.

'I'm sure he's going to win the league, and definitely the CAF Champions League."
