Deal for Kigi to Kaizer Chiefs agreed

Swallows FC winger Kgaogelo 'Kigi' Sekgota's move to Kaizer Chiefs has been essentially wrapped up, with another player lining up to join him.

The player's representative is now also working on getting Sao Tomean international Jardel Rodrigues Afonso Nazare a contract at Naturena.

Sekgota has been linked with a move to Chiefs for months and information reaching is that an agreement has been reached and he will report to Naturena in the new season.

The 23-year-old has been with Swallows since the beginning of the season on a deal that runs up upon the completion of this campaign, having previously been on the books of Portuguese club Vitoria Setubal.

The exciting left-footed winger also played for FC Stumbras in Lithuania, where he was teammates with Nazare – the Portugal-born left-back currently training with Chiefs.

Both Sekgota and Nazare are represented by the same agent who also played in Europe through his playing days.

Sekgota is familiar to Gavin Hunt having played under him at Bidvest Wits while on loan from Setubal at the beginning of last year.

It is said that after Sekgota's deal was ironed out, it was then that Nazare was recommended by the same agent.

What now remains to be seen is whether Nazare will be handed a contract, which would be provided he is deemed better than the options Chiefs already have in Philani Zulu, Yagan Sasman and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.

The other left-back recommendation for Chiefs has been Sifiso Ngobeni of Bloemfontein Celtic.
