Despite denials from the Maritzburg United camp, KickOff.com sources remain adamant that midfielder Keagan Buchanan could be on his way out of the club today.
Buchanan has been one of the star performers at United in recent times and his departure from the KwaZulu-Natal outfit could come as a major shock as the club find themselves fighting to avoid relegation again.
The Team of Choice have already lost several players in recent weeks, including defender Rushine De Reuck to Mamelodi Sundowns, while Pogiso Sanoka is also expected to be unveiled by TS Galaxy, as was reported by this website about a fortnight ago.
At this stage it remains unclear as to why Buchanan will be leaving Maritzburg at such a crucial stage of the season, with no indication of an immediate move elsewhere.
"The issue is a little bit sensitive and neither party is ready to talk about the situation between the club and Buchanan," the source tells KickOff.com.
"But expect the club to release a statement today [Monday] on the decision on the player's future."
Meanwhile, one of the member's of Maritzburg's backroom staff who wishes to remain anonymous has vehemently denied that the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder is leaving.
"Some people are trying to destabilise our team. The chairman has not mentioned anything regarding Keagan leaving the club," says the official.
