Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego 'Killer' Mphela has named his 11 best strikers to have played in the Premier Soccer League.
Like most top players of his generation, Mphela perfected his football skills at Jomo Cosmos before he went on to excel at both club and international level for Bafana Bafana.
Today, the former Strasbourg and Stade Reims forward has selected his 11 best strikers in the PSL era, although he left himself off the list.
"If it wasn't for injuries, I think I could have scored many goals," Mphela tells KickOff.com.
"I think in front of goals I knew what to do. I could play deep as number 10, I could play as number nine, a typical box striker. If you create a chance for me, I will take it. I use both feet. I'm also not bad in the air.
"Most of these strikers I have selected they relate to how I was playing as well. When I started playing football as a striker, I watched people like (Siyabonga) Nomvethe, (Sibusiso) Zuma how they were playing. They were not sitting in one place. But when I grew older and got matured, I realise that for a striker to score goals I need to be in the box."
