Compounding the burden on Chiefs for the 2017-18 campaign is the fact that head coach Steve Komphela is into his third season in charge having failed to win any silverware in his first two.
So how much of a discussion have the players had about remedying the problem?
“It is not a discussion that we have had because as individuals we all know that when we come here what the team expects from us,” responds Molangoane.
“We all know what the brand is about. Everyone knows what is needed from them and they have to deliver. It is not about the coach but rather us as a collective to work as one and deliver for the brand."
Yet if truth be told the fact that this will be a crucial season for Komphela cannot be ignored.
“I think we are a team and the coach is part of us and if he has pressure we also have pressure. As you know Chiefs is a winning team. We all have pressure, we just need to work together because like I said everyone is hungry for silverware. So I think we will push by working harder and deliver.
“We are a team and when we lose a game we cannot pin point one person and say we lost the game because of that. We are a collective. Every time when we do things we are a collective,” insists Molangoane.
