Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has finally admitted Kaizer Chiefs' interest in signing Thabo Nodada.
Comitis, who has always insisted that Nodada is not for sale to local clubs, reveals that it was during the January transfer window earlier this year that Amakhosi came for Nodada.
"Err... there was interest in him a while back, not now recently," Comitis tells KickOff.com.
"So you know at this stage we made it very clear, and Nodada also wants to go overseas. So probably we will be seeing him leave at the end of the season you know. If the timing is right and the deal is right, it will happen.
"I said [to Chiefs] the player himself wants to go overseas. Because he knows his capacity. Now he's been selected for the national team, I think his career is about to take off.
"You know for him the timing is good to sit with us for a little bit longer and then we will find the right deal for him if he's to go overseas. But for us at the moment, it's about winning games, and he's part of that.
"Nodada, definitely not [for sale]. We had requests from a couple of the big clubs but you know, we're holding the infrastructure together."
The Citizens lost Kermit Erasmus to Mamelodi Sundowns but have also signed Ghanian striker Prince Opoku Agyemang, Zambian star Charles Zulu and Aubrey Ngoma among others.
