Kaizer Chiefs’ preparations for the 2019/20 season’s resumption are going full steam ahead with their focus firmly on their Absa Premiership title charge.
Chiefs returned to group training at The Village nearly three weeks ago following a lengthy three-and-a-half months of being in isolation amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The PSL and its stakeholders were set for a crucial BOG meeting to decide the fate of the current season on Friday, but this has since been postponed to next week Monday.
SAFA has pencilled in 1 August as the earliest restart date, after the League’s initial 18 July proposal was rejected due to the protocols surrounding match officials.
With talk having since arisen that the campaign may be cancelled due to time constraints, this places Amakhosi’s hopes of ending their agonising five-year trophy drought in doubt.
However, this has not deterred the team as they continue to push themselves towards their best possible shape to see out their remaining eight league games.

Chiefs still hold a four-point advantage at the summit of the log table, with second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns having a game in hand.
The two sides are also set to come head-to-head in a potential title-deciding fixture, should the decision be taken to return to action in the biologically safe environment next month.
