Chiefs target suffers injury setback

Reported Kaizer Chiefs defensive target Terrence Mashego has suffered an injury setback while on international duty.

Mashego was informed by doctors that he will be sidelined for around six weeks after suffering an injury.

The Bafana Bafana and Cape Town City full-back was forced to pull out of Bafana's trip to Morocco after sustaining a knee injury in June while in camp.

The 23-year-old is believed to be on the wishlist of Chiefs even though the CT City chairman John Comitis rubbished those links.

Mashego has undergone an operation on June 15, 2022, and is set to be sidelined until around July 18th.

"As I'm speaking to you, I have just left the doctor's surgery," Mashego tells KickOff.

"I haven't been at training since they've re-opened, and will only join the rest of my teammates in training tomorrow (Saturday).

"I feel a lot better right now, but not meaning I can kick a football, so I will be taking it easy.

"I'm not sure how long the healing is going to take, but I was told the maximum is going to be six weeks, counting from the operation date.

"But I think it's going to be less than that."
