Amakhosi axe falls on first player

Kaizer Chiefs have wilded the axe on their first player as they begin the process of rebuilding for the 2021/22 season.

Chiefs have confirmed the departure of midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase after the two parties agreed to terminate their contract on Friday.

Ntshangase's stay in Naturena comes to an end after a largely disappointing three years since his arrival from Baroka, which brought about plenty of excitement from the club's fans.

Since signing a one-year contract extension last year, 'Stash' has made just two appearances under coach Gavin Hunt this season and now departs with a total of 38 appearances and 0 goals for Amakhosi.

"Kaizer Chiefs and Siphelele Ntshangase have come to a decision to part ways with immediate effect," read a statement from the club.

"The early termination of the contract follows weeks of discussions and processes between the two parties.

"Ntshangase’s contract with Amakhosi was due to end at the end of the current season after being extended for one season last year.

"We wish him well in his career."
