Chiefs star nearing legendary status

Kaizer Chiefs recently extended the contracts of some of their senior players and one of them has received glowing praise for his dedication and professionalism.

Bernard Parker has been one of the key players for Amakhosi on and off the field over the years, which has seen the club rewarding the 33-year-old with another contract to remain at Naturena.

His agent Mike Makaab is hoping the veteran forward will stay a key figure for Amakhosi because of his professionalism.

"Look, I'm hoping that Bernard will eventually become an important part of Kaizer Chiefs' technical staff going forward," Makaab says.

"He's a wonderful player, again, a great professional, hard-working and always willing to take the knocks on his chin and come back for more."

Parker is close to reaching legendary status at Chiefs with 300 appearance for the club, and Makaab says the former Bafana Bafana striker is among the top players he has worked with.

"I just think again, in the model of Siyabonga Nomvethe and so many others I've been privileged to work with, Bernard Parker stands tall as a football professional."
