Chiefs linked to Hungarian Holender

Premiership

KickOff.com has established that Kaizer Chiefs could be shipping in Hungarian forward Filip Holender, who is currently based in Serbia.

Holender is currently on loan at Partizan Belgrade from Swiss club FC Lugano until the end of the season, and has scored eight league goals in 21 games in the Serbian SuperLiga so far.

With Chiefs known to be on the lookout for strikers, word reaching this website is that the 26-year-old has been offered to Chiefs by an unnamed agent.

It is understood that Zambian forward Lazarous Kambole could be the one sacrificed at the end of the season to open up a foreign space at Naturena.

Kambole – who was signed at the insistence of the club board at the beginning of last season – hasn’t had a productive stay at Chiefs with a single goal in 36 appearances.

It is rather surprising that Holender’s name was thrown in at Chiefs despite him enjoying his game at Partizan, playing his football just across the border from his homeland.

However, following the success that Serbian forward Samir Nurkovic enjoyed in his first year at Chiefs, players from Eastern Europe have become of interest to PSL clubs.

Mamelodi Sundowns are also reported to have already signed Slovakia international Pavol Safranko, while Dusan Stevic from Serbia is also on the books of Maritzburg United.
