Chiefs’ Sekgota wary of Maritzburg threat

Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs speedster Kgaogelo Sekgota has revealed that the Amakhosi will take nothing for granted against struggling Maritzburg United this weekend.

With the international break having come to an end, Chiefs will get their domestic DStv Premiership campaign back underway this weekend when they travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium to face the Team of Choice.

The hosts have struggled for form this season and occupy 11th place in the log standings, having claimed just 11 points from their opening 10 matches, but Chiefs are not anticipating an easy match according to Sekgota.

"Maritzburg will not be easy and they have not been an easy team to beat when they play at home," the 24-year-old told the club's media team ahead of the match.

"They have also not had the greatest of starts so they are looking for maximum points. They will want to start picking up points so they can move away from the bottom half and we are aware of it.

"We are also looking for the three points so we can move up the log table. It will be a tough game."

After a difficult start to the campaign, Chiefs have won three of their last four league matches and have climbed to sixth in the league standings, ten points behind table-topping Mamelodi Sundowns, who have a game in hand.
