An already dark week for Chiefs worsened as they were downed 3-1 by Arrows in the Absa Premiership at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Arrows took the lead after just five minutes, while Castro was shown a straight red card in the 16th minute, and Mabedi admits the Glamour Boys could not recover after that.

“We started very badly. I think we slept a little bit. I think what affected us more was the red card, everything just went wrong for us after that. I think we lost control immediately after the red card,” Mabedi told SuperSport TV.

Mabedi, however, applauded his charges for soldiering on at a numerical disadvantage.

“I have to give credit to the players. They fought with a man less and showed character and we have tried our best. If you check the goals we conceded, it was just individual errors, it happens," he added.

“But it’s one of those things so we just have to keep going. We were good.

"We tried to knock it around and with the fighting spirit showed today, I think if we continue working on our mistakes done today, we’ll go somewhere."
