Kaizer Chiefs have finally commented on the issue of George Maluleka and his potential departure from the club.
The midfielder, who has played a total of 13 games this season, has been recently linked with a move away from the club, with reports claiming clubs as big as Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers are interested in his services.
Maluleka's contract with the Glamour Boys is set to expire at the end of the season, which could see him leave for free.
A source has described the player's situation as "very sensitive" as Chiefs have not indicated if they will be offering him a new deal.
But according to Chiefs communications manager Vina Maphosa, the club is not disturbed by the rumours and will not be rushing to discuss the contract of the 30-year-old.
"No, we don't have a situation. Nothing at all at Chiefs. We are reading about it also. Nothing, nothing leader," Maphosa tells KickOff.com.
Maphosa was asked if there is a possibility of seeing the player leave Amakhosi for another club at the end of the season.
"I don't know, I don't know. We don't know anything about what you are asking leader. We are reading about it just like you... from ourselves we don't have anything to issue. We don't have any information about that story."
He was pressed further on why the club has not deemed it necessary to start negotiations.
"No, we don't talk about contracts of the players in the media before we engage the players, we don't do that," he replied.
"When we talk on a contract of a player it's when a contract is ending or when it's signed or renewed. That's the only time will issue a statement."
Maluleka, who joined Chiefs from SuperSport United in January 2014, is in his sixth year at the club.
