Molangoane has only made one appearance this season after making 18 league outings last term.
“There is no issue with Joseph,” says Komphela of the former Chippa United midfielder.
“The reason he is not playing is he was sick and then he got out and then [Bongolwethu] Jayiya came in and started playing. [Wiseman] Meyiwa was there, 'Mido' [George Maluleka) was there, [Willard] Katsande, 'Shabba' [Siphiwe Tshabalala] and [Gustavo] Paez.”
Molangoane's absence prompted rumours ill discipline is to blame. When queried, Komphela says he can't always respond to all the talk flying around.
“Again, the pity is that I don’t respond to certain things and that is why sometimes as they go on and it looked like it is true because I don’t rectify them myself.
“Otherwise you will have to rectify everything that is flying out there. So you will spend more time rectifying this and that. Listen, you lose focus on what you have to do. All that said, with respect to whoever said it it is not true.
“One, we need to bring a medical report. There was a stage where he had flu just after Itumeleng Khune had his chest problems as well.
“And then it was not easy for him to come back. But at least he started to train a bit well now because, at the back of that, I don’t know whether it was various or what because he missed sessions.
“He was sent home for two days maybe. Again that’s where we dropped the ball, we didn’t pass that message to the public.
“Players are my best partners in this business.”
