Orlando Pirates superfan Joyce 'Mama Joy' Chauke has issued advice to fellow football supporters on how to deal with coronavirus after beating Covid-19.
Chauke was admitted to Baragwanath Hospital a few weeks ago after contracting the dreaded disease but has now recovered.
"I'm home now. I got discharged on Wednesday," Chauke tells KickOff.com.
"They said I was alright, I must just quarantine for three days at my home. After three days then I can mix with other people. Ya I've recovered now.
"I defeated it by acknowledging that I have it and I have to fight it. Taking my pills regularly. Even people encouraging and telling me, 'No you will defeat it Mama Joy, don't worry.' They make you strong."
The Ghost will be pleased to hear of Mama Joy's recovery having just lost legendary Pirates superfan Mandla 'Mgijimi' Sindane.
"People shouldn't be scared and worry about what others will say after testing positive – what does your life say?" Chauke continues.
"People won't be able to help you if you hide it from them. By revealing yourself you allow people to be able to help you on time.
"Because honestly corona does kill. Once you notice some symptoms just reveal yourself. Revealing my status helped me to get help on time.
"I've recovered, I'm right. I don't know though if I go outside whether people will scream, 'Hey social distance!' or whatever but I'm right."
