A former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has given the club praise for how they conducted business during the transfer window period.
Amakhosi have started the Absa Premiership 2019/20 season with a bang and are still unbeaten after four matches, sitting on the top of the log.
Josta Dladla has praised the club for their recent performances and tells KickOff.com that resisting a complete overhaul during the off-season has helped them.
"Lots of people didn't give Kaizer Chiefs a chance, because they didn't go all out in the market, buying like 20 players, they only bought certain players in certain positions," he said.
"They probably did that just to avoid buying lots who may need time to adjust, so bringing in a few where you know you are lacking is much better."
Dladla is aware that it is still too early for celebrations and admits their ambitions will be tested after the first rounds of the season.
"As much as the team didn't even qualify for MTN8, this is Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the day, but now it's a brand new season. They can come out and beat teams, this is what they are doing at the moment, but you can't be excited about that because it's only the fourth round, it's still a marathon. Ask me in the 17th round whether Chiefs will win the league or not, I will tell you."
He also gives credit to Lebogang Manyama and Khama Billiat for their performances so far.
"Now they are doing well, they started pretty well, you can see the likes of Lebogang Manyama doing well and showing their experience, Khama Billiat is coming to the party too, they are doing well."
Amakhosi will host Polokwane City this Saturday, a battle against the silent killers of the league who have shown huge progress in the last two seasons.
