Maduka master-minded a resounding 4-1 win at the FNB Stadium on Saturday in his 50th match since being appointed as head coach at Bloemfontein Celtic in July last year.

The 50-year-old served as a caretaker coach at Celtic and as team manager for several years since retiring as a player in 2009.

Saturday's result has been made all the more impressive after high-profile drama behind the scenes at Royal AM since their joining the DStv Premiership.

"There are always challenges when there is a transition," Maduka said after his side's win.

"Psychologically we were not ready but then suddenly something like that [Royal AM purchasing Bloem Celtic's status] happened. The boys have been getting better and better and the team has done very well with the new chairlady and the whole management.

"They have tried their best to make things get better and psychologically to help wherever they can so that the players focus on the coming games.

"It is not easy whenever there is a transition, but we are getting better because of the help of the management.

Royal AM currently occupy fourth position in the log standings with two wins and two defeats from four matches played.

"It's good to see the team winning two games in a row because it gives the players the confidence that they are able to win games.

"We are trying to build a team that can compete and to do that you need to win games because when you win games it gives the team confidence going forward."

Royal AM next host TS Galaxy in a league clash at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
