Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has made a decision on whether to sign winger Mark Mayambela.
Mayambela had been training with City and impressed head coach Benni McCarthy, who was keen to sign his former Orlando Pirates teammate.
Any deal was subject to Comitis approving the deal, and the Citizens boss has now returned from an overseas trip to make a decision.
"There's no latest on Mayambela, we have signed [Fagrie] Lakay and that's that, we're going to stick to that," Comitis tells KickOff.com.
"We looked at Mayambela for wide right, because we were trying to get [Aubrey] Ngoma at the time, and then Lakay became available and I discussed it with the coach, and the coach sorted out the problem. He was happy to sign Lakay.
"At this stage we are doing nothing, I have signed Lakay, I'm not signing two right-sided players. That's why I signed Lakay."
Lakay joined City on a free transfer earlier this month after having his contract with Bidvest Wits terminated just after two months.
