Ex-Chippa United coach Joel Masutha has thrown his name into the hat for the vacant position at the club and is not threatened by working with trigger-happy Siviwe Mpengesi again.
Chippa are currently without a coach after parting ways with Rhulani Mokwena, whose loan contract came to an end last week.
As reported by KickOff.com, ex-Bafana Bafana striker Benni McCarthy, who is currently without a job after being sacked by Cape Town City last year, has since been linked with a shock move to the Chilli Boys.
Masutha previously spent a brief four-week spell in charge of the club before being fired for failing to register a single win in five matches, but now wants another bite at the cherry.
“[Chippa and I] are on good terms. We have worked well together before. We have been talking and there hasn’t been a time when we’ve stopped talking,” Masutha tells this website.
“Me and him are like brothers. One cannot rule anything out in football, because we don’t have permanent enemies. We have never been enemies in the first place.
"Me and him we get along very well. Even when the team was doing well with other coaches, I used to call and wish the club well before games and, when they win, I call to congratulate them after the match. We have a good relationship.”
The former Black Leopards mentor is currently unemployed after leaving GladAfrica Championship outfit Real Kings earlier this season.
Chippa have gone through a total of 21 coaches in their past eight years in the PSL top flight.
