'It's going to be 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs'

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Humphrey 'Cellular' Mlwane has predicted another Soweto Derby win for Amakhosi today.

Mlwane, who these days works as a coach in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League, was a head coach at Eswatini giants Malanti Chiefs last season.

He believes coach Ernst Middendorp has finally turned the club's fortunes around.

"Ja I think he has turned the corner in terms of the structure of the team," Mlwane tells KickOff.com.

"I think he is on the right track. I think the recruitment of players, especially up front, you see it brought a change as they are now a little bit quicker going forward. They are playing a quick-passing game. The management also played a role in terms of bringing in new blood in the team."

About the Soweto Derby, Mlwane says even though it is a difficult one to call, he backs Amakhosi to come out with all three points against Orlando Pirates.

"It's going to be tough you see. You cannot just predict it. These days we sit in front of the TV and just talk, but it's tough there inside the field," he says.

"But I would say with the confidence that Chiefs have at the moment, they are motivated, and Pirates they are a little bit struggling man. I don't know what's happening there. But the confidence and consistency Chiefs has got these days, I think I will give them the benefit to win the game.

"These days Derbies are becoming open, as you saw last week, both teams managed to score four goals [in total]. I think defensive-wise the game will be open, I think it will be an open game. It's sold out, they can make the supporters happy.

"To play on the counter-attack it doesn't work much you see. I think if it can be an open game it will be interesting and one team will win. But if they are sitting back that's where we'll have a problem in terms of results.

"I think Chiefs strikers [Samir] Nurkovic and Dumisani Zuma, I think they are getting on well in terms of adjusting to the team and to the coach's philosophy. I think the two guys at the moment are winning games for Chiefs.

"It's going to be 2-1. The two guys Nurkovic and Zuma will get the goals. Without Happy Jele, Pirates might lack a strong defence you see."
