Highlands to seal deal with Galaxy

Premiership

It appears Tim Sukazi is about to realise his dream of owning a team in the PSL, with the TS Galaxy owner set to meet with Highlands Park today to finalise his takeover.

Sukazi and the Highlands hierarchy have been engaged in lengthy discussions for several months and are expected to meet this afternoon to put pen to paper.

The deal will see Highlands co-directors Brad Kaftel and Larry Brookstone offload their PSL status, with the club expected to relocate to Mpumalanga next season.

Another co-director and minority shareholder Sinky Mnisi came out guns blazing last week insisting he would fight sale of the club after alleging that the transaction went behind his back.

However, it appears things are moving swiftly against his wishes, with the Lions of the North set to be renamed TS Galaxy next season.

"Highlands Park and the new buyers are meeting today to sign the papers," a close source tells KickOff.com.

Highlands chairman Kaftel could not deny that the club could relinquish their status in the PSL as early as this afternoon.

"Please call me later today," Kaftel says. "I would prefer not to say anything now."

Sukazi could not be reached for comment.
