Mamelodi Sundowns look to have stepped up their pursuit of a striker as Bidvest Wits forward Gift Motupa confirmed their reported interest.
Sundowns are looking to swoop in on the former Orlando Pirates striker, who is currently Wits' top goal scorer in all competitions this season.
Motupa has scored 11 goals in 20 matches for The Clever Boys, with five of them coming in the Absa Premiership and the other six having come in their five CAF Confederation Cup ties thus far.
The 25-year-old, who arrived at the Milpark-based outfit at the start of last season following a loan spell with Chippa United in 2017/18, has since confirmed that though he has not met with The Brazilians officials as yet, there have been talks between the two clubs.
"It's a good thing [to be linked with Sundowns] but I cannot talk about that one," commented Motupa on Thursday, after being crowned Absa's Player of the Month for December 2019.
"Because they compete in the CAF Champions League every season, which is an experience every player wants to have, and also win more trophies.
"They've been winning more than all teams in the PSL for the past six years, so everyone would love be a part of that team."
Asked whether he has been approached by the Tshwane giants, Motupa added: "No, they haven't approached me. What I know is that they have approached my team, and I don't know what happened [from there]."
Pressed to confirm if he would be willing to join Pitso Mosimane's well-oiled machine, he then said: "I'm happy where I am now, but if my team agrees then I will go."
