Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Maluleka has opened up on his experience since joining the club from Kaizer Chiefs.
Maluleka was released by Chiefs upon the end of his contract last month and was swiftly welcomed by Sundowns on July 1.
The 31-year-old has since joined The Brazilians in their preparations for the imminent resumption of the 2019/20 season, which he will play no further part in.
While he would have stood a chance of getting his fourth Absa Premiership title with Amakhosi, his departure means he will miss out on any silverware as he is not yet eligible to be registered by the Tshwane outfit, who are also still in the running for two trophies.
Speaking to the club’s website from Rustenburg, where they have been based since last week, ‘Mido’ has shed light on his experience among his new teammates.
“The first day was good and great to be back on the field, a lot of physical training and I enjoyed myself,” said Maluleka.
“The guys have been good, I received a warm welcome, it was very good and I am happy.”
SAFA and the PSL have seemingly come to an agreement that football will finally return following a four-month suspension at the start of August, with match officials needing the next two weeks to physically prepare.
