Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Sandile Ndlovu believes if anything about a possible loan move for George Maluleka is true, it would be a big mistake that could destroy him.
Several reports in the local media have claimed 'Mido' is among the players who could still be sent out on loan after the club signed more than 13 new players for the new season.
With Pitso Mosimane now at Al Ahly and known to have personally wanted Maluleka at Sundowns, under the leadership there appears to be uncertainty over his future.
Ndlovu believes if Manqona Mngqithi, Rhulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela are sensible they would keep Maluleka as they need him in the team.
"George Maluleka is very good with huge experience, coming from another big team, he deserves a chance to prove himself," Ndlovu tells KickOff.com.
"It would be a big disappointment to let a player like Maluleka go. It may even demoralise him this season because he probably joined them to contribute to the success of the team."
'AK-47' further questions whether Mosimane was the driving force behind bringing in Maluleka since he is no longer at the club and now there are reportedly talks of the midfielder being loaned out.
"It confused me that a player like him can even be linked with a loan move," he admits.
"I'm also questioning whether coach Manqoba Mngqithi and Rhulani Mokwena needed him in the first [place] alongside the previous coach. I just hope he doesn't leave because Sundowns need him, his experience can be useful in the team."
