Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has given a glowing commendation for Samir Nurkovic as he touched on the Serbian's selection as captain on the weekend.
Nurkovic has been instrumental in Chiefs' turn in fortunes since his return to the side following a lengthy injury lay-off and some well-documented boardroom issues.
The 28-year-old has not only contributed with a goal and two assists in his first three starts of the season but his mere presence has brought a different aura within the team's performance.
Having been handed the captain's armband for the first time since his arrival at the club against Stellenbosch at the weekend, Hunt explained that he is the right sort of character to lead the club going forward.

"He leads by example, he's what we need more in the future of this football club - we need people that have game toughness and are mentally tough, and I think he's one of them," said Hunt.
"I thought it was perfect [to give him the armband]. For me it's something that's going on [deciding who is the captain], but Rama has been captain for the last few games and when he comes back then he'll be the captain."
