Hunt: Teams that beefed up are doing well

Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has spoken of their next challenge against high-flying Swallows FC and says their new signings put them among the top teams this season.

Chiefs face a second game in just three days after being held to a 2-2 draw by Golden Arrows on Saturday as they now visit Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium this evening.

The fixture was initially pencilled in for Sunday, but with their CAF Champions League schedule clashing, the game has now been brought forward by five days.

"After playing on Saturday and having to play again on Tuesday, you can only go through a few things and talk about it. We also watched a few video clips but nothing more than that," Hunt told the club's website.

"We are going into each and every game with the mindset to win. There is no negativity of going there looking for a point. You start with a good mindset and the game itself will dictate how we play."

After making seven changes against Arrows at the weekend, the 56-year-old tactician has hinted at more changes tonight, while conceding that the team is not yet at the desired level.

"I don’t believe in keeping a consistent team. We don’t have too many options now, but we will try to play majority of the players. As mentioned before, we still have a long way to go to get to what I deem a good team," he added.

The DStv Premiership newcomers, meanwhile, have made several additions to their GladAfrica Championship-winning side, and Hunt believes their arsenal puts them among the top competitors this season.

"Swallows are a good team, with good pace and have made good signings. They are among the top teams. When you look at the league, the teams that have beefed up their squads are doing well. We are in a unique position and we have made the best out of the squad we’ve got," he concluded.
