Al Ahly target Gaston Sirino failed to pitch up for Mamelodi Sundowns training on Monday following the club's order for him to focus on his job.
Sundowns released a statement confirming the termination of their Sirino transfer negotiations with Al Ahly to quell rumours the player could still force his way out of Chloorkop.
The Brazilians have drawn a line the sand and ordered the player to focus on his PSL career as they begin preparations for the second half of the 2020/21 season.
Sundowns returned to training today after a short Christmas break but Sirino was missing. However, a club official says there is no cause for concern regarding the Uruguayan's absence.
"There are no issues, he is not the only player missing today," the official tells KickOff.com. "He is part of the group."
Ahly are understood to be willing to pay up to R50-million for Sirino, while Sundowns are believed to be asking for closer to R90-million. The Egyptian club conducts its transfers in US dollars.
