Chiefs returned to winning ways following their shock defeat to Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals on Sunday, putting Stellenbosch to the sword with a 4-0 victory.

Amakhosi were eagerly seeking to make amends for their disappointing display over the weekend, and turned it on in style at the Cape Town Stadium last night.

Siyabonga Ngezana returned from national under-23 duty to begin the onslaught in as early as the 11th minute, before Samir Nurkovic netted a brace on either side of half-time as Dumisani Zuma came off the bench and rounded things off in stoppage time.

It is the Glamour Boys' biggest victory this year, having last run riot over Tanzanian side Zimamoto in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round exactly a year ago today, November 28, 2018, when Giovanni Solinas was still in charge.

It is also Ernst Middendorp's biggest win since 19 October 2014 – while still in charge of Bloemfontein Celtic, who then beat Polokwane City 5-1 in an Absa Premiership clash at the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in the Free State.
