PICS: Chiefs restore 10-point lead

Premiership

The best images as Kaizer Chiefs overcame a valiant Golden Arrows side to restore their 10-point lead at the top of the Absa Premiership standings.

Chiefs marched on as log leaders as they pipped Arrows by a 1-0 scoreline to move onto 45 points from 19 matches this season – stretching the gap over Mamelodi Sundowns to 10 points.

Amakhosi were made to wait until the 93rd minute before they got their breakthrough as midfielder Lebogang Manyama was on hand to slot home a rebound after Samir Nurkovic's initial strike was saved by Sifiso Mlungwana.

It was Manyama's fifth goal of the campaign, added to his eight assists thus far, as he picked up the Man of the Match award.

Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi also held a third clean sheet in his last four matches to take his season's tally to eight clean sheets in 16 matches.

Meanwhile, it was a 100th club appearance for Abafana Bes'thende's Knox Mutizwa, who was presented with a framed shirt as a commemorative token by coach Steve Komphela.
