PICS: Chiefs, Bucs, Downs are back

The 2019/20 Absa Premiership season finally got back underway after four months, with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns all returning to action.

The PSL’s ‘big three’ kicked off the campaign re-start this week, giving fans a taste of what they missed since football was suspended in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sundowns hosted Pirates at their bio-bubble ‘home’ venue Dobsonville Stadium, where the two sides played out to a goalless stalemate on Tuesday evening.

Chiefs then resumed their title charge as log leaders when they took on Bidvest Wits at their new stomping ground Orlando Stadium, where it ended 1-1 on Wednesday evening.

The current log standings therefore remain unchanged at the summit, where Amakhosi continue to sit pretty with 49 points from 23 matches and The Brazilians trail by four points in second position.
