Stars to gamble on ex-Bucs striker

Free State Stars head coach Themba Sithole has confirmed that the club will sign former striker Ayanda Nkosi despite being unfit.

Nkosi, who is currently training with the Bethlehem club, has been searching for employment since Orlando Pirates decided to release him at the end of the 2018/19 season following a poor showing while on loan at National First Division club Jomo Cosmos.

Ea Lla Koto will be campaigning in the second tier, now called the GladAfrica Championship, following their relegation from the Absa Premiership.

"No, no, no, we haven't signed anything," Sithole tells when asked if the striker has finally put pen to paper.

"He is training with us but he hasn't signed. Ja we have to make sure we assess and make sure when we make a decision it's the right one, because I don't know how long he's been out of action so we have to work on his fitness.

"But as we speak now he looks a little bit too heavy. It will depend on how he pushes himself as well. But our job is to try and help him. But we are going to sign him."
