Stars drew 0-0 with Matlama FC at the Maseru Setsoto Stadium before edging Bantu FC 1-0 thanks to Camaldine Abraw's first-half goal.
Phiri told his club's official website: “I am very thrilled with the way the boys performed on the day despite the scorching hot conditions we played under. To me the results were not much important but we wanted to check out our fitness level, how far are we as far as our fitness level is concerned.”
He added: “I must say I was impressed by a few good individual performances by our players and also trialists and one hopes that they continue working hard and we as the technical team might decide to sign one or two players if there is a need.”
Ea Lla Koto, who are a point above the drop zone after 17 games, will resume their Absa Premiership campaign against SuperSport United on February 11.
