Striker Rodgers scored a 75th minute winner after Samkelo Mbambo cancelled out Yusuf Jappie's opener for the Nedbank Cup champions in the first half at Makhulong Stadium on Sunday.
Midfielder Twala, who was released by Kaizer Chiefs in June, also featured as substitute in the friendly during the FIFA break in Tembisa.
"First of all we played very well in the first half and we created 10 big chances in the box but we missed," Eymael tells KickOff.com.
"Okay one goal of Judas Moseamedi has been cancelled. I don't know why, I will have to watch the replay on TV. One very nice goal of Yusuf Jappie but we created a lot of chances and the goalkeeper made a brilliant save on the header of [Harris] Tchilimbou. For the rest we missed seven other big chances. I don't know how many corners we got in the first half, I have to see the statistics.
"Unfortunately it was 1-1 at half-time and it was supposed to be minimum 1-4, 1-5 or 0-5 because we play with big speed and a good plan of soccer in the first half.
"Yes, I introduced Twala and Rodgers in the second half. I took seven players on the bench. I didn't put any goalkeeper on the bench you know because I wanted to give game-time to several players. I think Rodgers used it well [his chance] but I knew Rodgers would score because he was scoring the full week during training sessions. But what he is doing is not yet perfect. Not yet what I asked to him, or what we explained to him, or what we are working with him [on]. But he has again to improve like Judas has to improve, like [Maboke] Matlakala has to improve again.
"Err ... William, good substitution for Twala. Really now he is coming back. He needs again more fitness and that is working well. I'm happy with the boy, he will bounce back this year here at Free State Stars. He is coming back here, he shows good signs and I will be happy if the guy proves other people wrong about him.
"But let's see, there is still a long road to go or long way to walk, or to run. But we'll see what happens because we had a meeting with the players. I'm happy with some of them but I'm not 100% with some others."
Asked what did he make of their amateur opponents, the Belgian coach said: "We had good opposition with these boys. They did well these young boys and they were well organised. But we knew we would score the second goal because I don't know how many chances we created in the second half."
