Former Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has joined a list of coaches to have stated their interest in the vacant Swallows FC job.

KickOff.com had previously revealed that Swallows had placed current head coach Brandon Truter on "special leave".

The decision came after the Dube Birds suffered a 3-0 defeat to SuperSport United in a DStv Premiership clash on Sunday.

It has since gathered that Swallows FC has so far been flooded with applications with a potential managerial change on the cards.

"It's crazy, just a few hours after Truter was placed on special leave, many coaches have since applied for the coaching position at Swallows," A club source said.

"It's not only local coaches but also international coaches who are applying.

"I know for a fact that Gordon Igesund has also expressed his interest to join Swallows."

Meanwhile, Swallows FC chairman, David Mogashoe has assured that coach Brandon Trutter is not leaving the club despite being placed on special leave.

"The coach is not going anywhere," Mogashoe tells KickOff.com.

"He is only on special leave and will be back after two weeks.

Truter personally also confirmed the reports that he had been placed on special leave by the club.

"Yes, I am on leave. I don't harbour any hard or ill feelings towards anyone," Truter said in a brief statement.
