Kadodia refutes Zulu salary claims

Zulu has been in a peculiar situation at the Team of Choice, having played just two-and-a-half games thus far this season, with his last appearance lasting just 45 minutes in the 2-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on September 24.

Since then, the Maritzburg youth graduate has been banished to train with the club's youth teams as he stalls on a contract renewal.

Recent claims have suggested that the 24-year-old is unhappy with the improved package being offered by the club, while it is believed that the player is currently earning a measly R8 000 a month.

However, Kadioda has vehemently denied such claims and threatens to transfer list Zulu in January, should the two parties fail to settle their differences in negotiations.

"That is rubbish! I will give you his pay slip," Kadodia tells KickOff.com.

"Let me tell you clearly, I must give you the correct information. The minimum the guy is earning is 30 grands [R30 000] and I think it is more than that even. It is much more than 30 grands a month.

He added: "From my side, I don’t think the issue of Philani Zulu is up for discussion until there’s any progress in [negotiations].

"Otherwise all I can say if there’s no progress I will be forced to transfer-list him in January."

"At the moment there’s no progress and, if there’s any progress on Philani, I will update you."

Previously, the player's agent Mike Makaab told this website that he would seek to set up a meeting to resolve the dispute between the two parties, but Kadodia has denied any such meeting taking place.

Zulu's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season and will be free to negotiate with the club of his choice in January, whereby he would then need to see out his contract and move on a free transfer in July.

Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars are all believed to be monitoring the left-winger's situation.
