Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed the club's strategy regarding Richard Ofori's future at the club.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper has been one of the targeted players at the Team of Choice and Kadodia has revealed the club's plans regarding when they would be willing to let the Ghana international leave.
"Look, we would like to keep players happy at Maritzburg United. Football is about happy players and a happy team. The psychology of getting results is to have a vibe, we don't want to break the brand we've built," he said.
"Richard Ofori has passionately brought value to the team, I still rate him as one of the best goalkeepers in the PSL."
Before the start of the season, Kadodia hinted that Ofori might be in his last season with the club after they managed to keep him following the loss of two key players in Fortune Makaringe and Siphesihle Ndlovu to Orlando Pirates.
The chairman insists that they will give the player freedom to grow when time is right but could not say whether that would be locally or internationally.
"When the time is right for us and for him, then we will look at his future. Right now we convinced him that he needs to play at least three seasons at Maritzburg United before we can even see exactly, because we want him to go to a club that can elevate his career," Kadodia explained.
"Look, the deal is one thing, but I think in his case we would like to look at his interests because he's an international goalkeeper. As I said, I think he has an opportunity to be exposed to the international market."
