Former Bidvest Wits defender Vuyo Mere has not given up on playing in the Premier Soccer League just yet.

KickOff.com has been reliable informed that the veteran defender looks set to stay in the PSL for at least another season as he's currently training with Highlands Park, hoping to secure a deal.

The 35-year-old left the Clever Boys at the end of June, after making 25 appearances in all competition.

According to a source, Mere is currently training with the Lions of the North and is hoping to impress head coach Owen da Gama.

“Vuyo mere is training with Highlands Park. He started yesterday [Monday]. He played in the friendly against Luanda, a team from Angola," an informant tells KickOff.com.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars defender is an experienced campaigner who would add value at Highlands if he signed. He has leadership qualities, both on and off the pitch.
