Ex-Chiefs striker takes over at Swallows

A former Kaizer Chiefs striker has reportedly taken over the reins at Swallows FC on an interim basis to lead first-team training.

The Dube Birds are currently without a coach after parting ways with Brandon Truter and his technical team on Sunday.

Truter's departure at Swallows came immediately following a 3-1 derby defeat to Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership clash at Dobsonville Stadium.

According to a source close to the club, Madida took the players through their paces Monday morning while the club are in the process of finalising a new permanent coach.

"Madida is in charge of training," the source revealed to Kickoff.com.

"He is not a coach but only in charge of training for now until the club announces a new permanent coach.

"This is not the first time Madida has taken charge of first-team training sessions.

"As he previously did the same when Swallows were campaigning in the GladAfrica Championship."

Swallows' next fixture is a DStv Premiership clash against Maritzburg United on Saturday where the club will be hoping to have named a new head coach.
