Brooks reveals Sundowns desire

Premiership

Bafana Bafana midfielder Ethan Brooks admits he'd love to play for Mamelodi Sundowns if the opportunity presented itself.

Brooks, 20, has enjoyed a meteoric rise from amateur football towards the senior national team over the space of two years after being discovered by TS Galaxy.

The tireless midfielder caught the eye with several industrious displays in the 2020/21 DStv Premiership campaign and in the triumphant 2021 COSAFA Cup campaign in Gqeberha last month.

On his current trajectory in the South African top-flight, interest from abroad appears inevitable but should the big three come knocking, Brooks admits he'd prefer the reigning champions.

"I would choose Mamelodi Sundowns [if the big-three were interested]," he told KickOff Magazine.

"I'm a big fan of Sundowns and I got to play with [Lebogang] Maboe, Sphelele Mkhulise and Rushine [De Reuck], you know. I noticed they're calm and comfortable on the ball with high work-rate which suits my style of play."
