Even if Maritzburg United get relegated at the end of the season, head coach Eric Tinkler wants the side to go down fighting.
The Team of Choice takes on SuperSport United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday, hoping to registered another victory to boost their chances of surviving.
Tinkler did not want to celebrate too much after their victory against Black Leopards last weekend as he believes survival is not in their hands now, and they have to depend on other results.
"This win [against Leopards] gives us a chance, to believe again, but the reality is that we depend on other teams. We will have to beat SuperSport United and win our last game against Baroka and if we still get relegated after that then we must be proud of ourselves," he said.
Tinkler admits that he still has a hope of surviving and joined Maritzburg United knowing very well the challenge facing the club.
"I came to this club knowing the gap we had to the other teams. Even when i joined Chippa United I had belief we could change things, so there's belief."
Maritzburg must win and hope Black Leopards, Chippa United and Free State Stars drop points for them to be out of danger and all will be decided in their last game against Baroka.
