Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler did not want to celebrate too much after their massive 2-1 away win against Black Leopards on Saturday.
The Team of Choice's victory saw them cling onto their hope for survival as they are now one point behind 15th-placed Chippa United, who lost on Friday night against Cape Town City.
Tinkler said the victory gives them hope to fight until the end and still believes their future depends on how teams around them perform in their last two matches of the season.
"It's a massive win for us, I'm happy for the boys and the team, we've given ourselves a chance to fight. The reality is our lives still depend on other results but we will fight because the battle is not over until it ends," he said.
Tinkler was asked about the pressure of depending on other teams and how it affects them mentally to prepare for matches.
"It's nerve-wracking to depend on others. Like I said before, any team right now is beatable," he added. "For us we have to make sure we get maximum points, starting with SuperSport United."
Maritzburg's next match is against SuperSport at home before they end their season with a huge match against Baroka FC away.
