Tinkler happy with win ahead of MTN8 showdown

Head coach Eric Tinkler was satisfied with his side's rollercoaster 4-3 win over Golden Arrows in a DStv Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium ahead of an MTN8 final showdown.

Tinkler's side was forced to hang on for all three points after Arrows scored a late flurry of goals after possessing a comfortable 4-0 lead at one stage.

Speaking after the final whistle, a relieved Tinkler said he was satisfied with his side's win ahead of their MTN8 final appearance.

"We caught them on the counter with Craig Martin scoring a fantastic fourth goal," Tinkler said.

"Then everything fell apart. I think losing Thami Mkhize when we did was a big loss. All three goals at the end came down our right side.

"We put ourselves really, really under pressure in the last 15 minutes. It was tough the boys had to fight hard to ensure that we took the 4-3 win.

"But the win was very, very important leading into the [MTN8] cup final."

CT City face Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
