Tinkler explains Kobola's position


Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler has dismissed rumours going around that the club has parted ways with Vincent Kobola.

United recently announced the arrival of former Bafana Bafana international Delron Buckely as an assistant coach, which raised eyebrows about the future of Kobola as Tinkler's right-hand man.

However, the head coach has cleared the air regarding the former Cape Town City defender's future and role at the club.

"There are a lot of rumours going around regarding Vincent Kobola and I want to make it clear that Vincent Kobola is still with Maritzburg United," said Tinkler.

"Vincent Kobola is still an important member of the technical team. Vincent Kobola is still my first assistant coach. I don't know where all these rumours are coming from. Yah, they don't exist."

Maritzburg have also roped in former Kaizer Chiefs goalminder Rowen Fernandez as their goalkeeper coach.
